Automotive Tempered Glass is produced by applying heat to the glass up to its softening point, then cools it quickly to produce desirable surface compression on the glass surface, and at the same time, induce tensile stress within the glass substrate in order to enhance the physical strength of the glass.
1.) Safety
If a tempered glass of a car is smashed, the entire glass will be broken into tiny granules of honeycomb shape, thereby avoid causing bodily injury to car driver and passengers.
2.) High Mechanical Strength
Its impact- resistant strength is three to ten times that of the ordinary annealed glass. Under the impact test, if the glass panel is impacted by a steel ball of 227 grams falling from a height of 2.5~3m above the center of glass sample of 300mm x300mm x 5mm, the tempered glass sample will remain intact.
3.) Thermal Stability
Tempered glass can withstand temperature changes within the range of 250 ~ 320 degree Celsius.
Tempered glass with thicknesses of 3.2mm, 3.5mm, 4.0mm, 5.0mm and 6.0mm can be produced for automobile applications.
This specialty product is capable of receiving signals form GPS, TV, HCD, FM and AM frequencies, in addition to its ordinary heating capability.
1.) It can replace telescopic antenna and avoid the troubles of the in and out operations of the antenna.
2.) When the heating element is activated, it can rapidly increase the temperature of glass surface to 40? ~75 ?, and prevent fogging, frosting or icing on the glass surface during cold winter conditions.
Varous glass thickness of this special product such as 3.2m, 3.5mm, 4.0mm, 5.0mm, 6.0mm, 8.0mm can be produced.
